Natalie asked us to create a custom wedding card box for her that was slightly different from our norm. We were happy to oblige of course. This Creative Custom Card Box is ivory and features natural raffia trim as opposed to the usual satin ribbon. The bride also wanted us to add blue and purple 'dots' to echo the design of her wedding cake.

How long have you been doing graphic design? Well, we both went to school for graphic design, so that part of the business has been active for about seven years. We started really focusing on wedding invitations a little over two years ago though when a good friend of mine, who was getting married, asked me to design her invites for her. Around the same time another friend introduced me to Etsy. We opened our store a couple of months later and it's been a perfect fit ever since!

Describe your style. The invites in our Etsy store are unique, bold, and fun. Something that, as one bride put it, "everyone from my funkiest friends to my parents loved." Creating affordable, beautiful, low stress wedding invitation is a key goal for us. We also design one of a kind custom invitations for couples in a variety of styles. Just this year alone we've designed everything from a personalized subway map invite, to a manga style comic invite, and several classically elegant suites.

Do you do have any other jobs or do you just focus on wedding graphic Design? Yes, we're both full time graphic designers at local design firms.

What is something that few people know about you? I may literally be addicted to Oreos...

Do you have any advice to offer engaged couples or those planning a special event? Plan the wedding/event that YOU (you and your future spouse that is) want. And have fun! The day goes fast, so just enjoy it!

Hammi Jammi is a name she calls her children when they are acting like “hams” and she also loves pigs so the name is fitting for fun, everyday jewelry.

Describe your style:
I tend to like simple pieces, mostly using sterling silver and semi-precious gemstones. I also love to find unique focal pieces. Lately, I really like to work with Swarovski Crystals (which works well for the bridal market).

Do you do have any other jobs?
I am a stay-at-home mom of 2 boys (Brennon-age 6; Noah-age 2). All of the members are stay-at-home moms who each had our own individual businesses. We thought it was a natural fit to join forces and target the bridal market together.

What else would you be doing if you were not a jewelry designer?
I have a Master's degree in Public Health. Before having children I worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the Division of Orthopedics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I would most likely still be doing that.

What is something that few people know about you?
???? I have no idea...I'm pretty much an open book!

Do you have any advice to offer engaged couples or those planning a special event? Just have fun with it and try not to get stressedout. By using a WEDDING in a BOX, we take a lot of the stress out of planning by offering so many services in one place.

Would you like to say anything about your friends at Creative Custom Card Boxes? These boxes are beautiful. They just add that special touch to your event. It's the little details that make the wedding and reception look special and cohesive.

Have anything else to share with our readers?
We like to set up mini bridal shows for our brides and their friends so we can present all our services in a laid back setting. They can try on jewelry, do a foot soak, have a chair massage, and get some photos taken of the fun event, and even have some chocolate fondue at no obligation.

Everything I do is somehow related to graphic design, most of the time it is wedding and event focused, but I also have corporate design jobs and work for a variety of clients, for example I recently designed a book and champagne bottle labels for a high school reunion.

What else would you be doing if you were not a designer?

You’ve got some great questions! Another hard one… I love creating, but if I totally changed careers I think I would work with children somehow as a teacher or special needs therapist.

What is something that few people know about you?

I am a bit of a twitter addict! Though my twitter family gets it…those that don’t tweet wouldn’t know it… until they try it and get hooked themselves of course! @celestedesigns

Do you have any advice to offer engaged couples or those planning a special event?

The day is already special because of what it means to you, so make everything about it personal and special! You can find a way to customize every detail of your wedding and make it an event that represents you! Enjoy the process and the day by finding talented people to work with that will bring your vision to reality.

For planners, if you haven’t found a custom designer – find a good one!! After one event I guarantee you will choose custom design all your events! We can make you even more fabulous at what you do and a star with your clients, even weddings with smaller budgets look expensive with custom stationery and details.

I truly love what I do and value my relationships with my clients and also other vendors and planners!

I work closely with planners and clients online and in person to custom design their entire event. From a logo and inspiration board to set the tone ~ to all of their stationery needs. I’ve worked with all sizes of events and budgets. The list of items I can customize goes on and on! Save the dates, invitation sets (complete sets include: invitations, enclosures, addressed envelopes, assembly and even mailing service), announcements, wedding programs, favor labels (if it can be wrapped or tagged we can customize it!) table stationery (menu, reception programs, table numbers, placecards and table signs). My most popular favors have been custom bottle labels with photo or logo, photo candy labels and favor tags.

CCC News - Our First Bridal Expo: A Rousing Success!

The first ever Bridal Expo for Creative Custom Card Boxes was a rousing success! We were so pleased to meet so many happy couples ready to plan the heck out of their upcoming weddings! The response we got from brides and their fiances, family, and friends was absolutely unbelievable! They LOVED our products! (we secretly knew they would). Our Joeleen (ivory 2 tier with pearls) sample was such a big hit that we almost had a bride buy it on the spot!

We're really proud of this 3 tier Creative Custom Card Box! Its one of our most ambitious designs to date. This 3 tier round masterpiece features hand-placed crystals on the top tier as well as a crystal monogram on the front of the bottom tier. We added a sweet little red bow at the top and hand-placed thin ivory ribbons to create stripes along the middle tier.

It was a great deal of work but so worth it to make our customer happy! She told us that it reflects her and her fiance's style perfectly. Yay!!

Each Creative Custom Card Box already has built in features that keep your gifts secure. Namely, each card box is 'hinged' from the front by attached ribbons so that no one can just lift off the top of the box and reach in to grab something.

We've now added an option that can help not only keep the entire box even more secure than it already is but also looks decorative! Our new optional Creative Custom Card Boxes Security Closure does just that.

A Union of Two Sports Stars Accented by a Collaboration Between 3 Talented Wedding Vendors: Creative Custom Card Boxes, Celeste Designs, and Customized Wedding Creations

The following is a recap of the wedding from various accounts including the Bride herself!

It was a warm, sunny and beautiful day in Bossier City, Louisiana. The wedding and reception were held together to accomodate the 450 attendes at this wedding that was the talk of the town!
There were plenty of well known athletes in attendance and in the wedding party including;

Groomsman Super Bowl champ Brandon Jacobs-Running Back for the NY Giants

Groomsman Byron Santiago -Former Green Bay Packer LB

Guests inclueded:

Minnesota Vikings Kevin Williams 4x Pro Bowler, Defensive End

Green Bay Packers Alfred Malone, Defensive End

Green Bay Packers Michael Montgomery, Defensive End

Former Green Bay Packer, Offensive Line Backer, Kenny Pettway

Former Houston Texan Running Back, Chris Taylor

And many of the champion Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters Basketball team

The wedding colors were a vibrant tangerine and pool blue and the room was beautifully decorated with splashes of color everywhere! These colors were seen through out the decor of the ceremony and reception and were used in the designs of the Wedding Card Box by Creative Custom Card Boxes, the stationery designed by Celeste Designs, and the custom monogrammed aisle runner by Customized Wedding Creations.

The bride and groom looked absolutely regal as they walked down the aisle decorated by a handpainted and embellished Custom Aisle Runner by Customized Wedding Creations. The wedding party had 24 in total as well as 14 junior bridesmaids and groomsmen!

The reception began with the couple's first dance to Keyisha Cole's "You Complete Me". Guests oogled over all of the beautiful stationery by Celeste Designs.

Gifts were deposited for safe-keeping in a gorgeous hand painted and embellished 3 tier Wedding Card Box by Creative Custom Card Boxes. This one of a kind card box was hand-painted in pool blue and accented with white and tangerine ribbons as well as a custom monogram tag created by Celeste Designs.

The reception lasted into the evening and was a wonderful celebration of love!

About the Bride

Shantrell Jamique Moore was born and raised in Minden, Louisiana and played basketball all through high school. She attended Louisiana Tech for undegrad, where she was a superstar for the champion Lady Techsters. She was 2007 Conference Player of the Year and went on to play in Europe before deciding it wasn’t the direction she wanted to pursue. She enjoys working with children and is in the process of establishing Day Cares in Tx and La. Her mother, Tomorrow Moore two grandmothers, Mrs. Dorothy Moore and Mrs.Thelma Bentley and her big family were all a very important part of the big day! Her two brothers, Davarea Moore and Jamera Moore escorted her down the aisle.

About the Groom
Tramon Vernall Williams is from Napoleonville, Louisiana. He has an older brother named Ted. Tramon also attended Louisiana Tech for undergrad and was a football superstar as a walk on! Since graduation he was signed with the Houston Texans and later signed with the Green Bay Packers on Shantrell’s birthday, November 25, 2006. He played for the Green Bay Packers as #38 Cornerback. Tramon is known as a rising star in the league.

My childhood BFF is getting married to her sweetheart James coming this July 3rd! I'm so happy for her and so excited to bear witness to such an expression of love. Joeleen and I used to play together every day (she was my 'accross the street-neighbor).

I wanted to do something different for her bridal shower and her wedding planner aka sister Lizette told me she would love an Ivory and Pearl Custom Cardbox with matching WE DO letters. I was so happy to make her something that she would love and cherish for her wedding day and beyond!

Real Weddings - Phyllis and Tommy

We had the pleasure to attend Phyllis and Tommy's wedding at the Brooklake Country Club, in Florham Park, NJ on April 26, 2009. Phyllis is one of our first custom cardbox customers and we were so happy to be included in such a beautiful day!

The sun was shining as the couple exchanged vows against the backdrop of a beautiful expanse of green spring grass and a fountain.

The navy blue and gold theme was first implemented in the simple and elegant programs.

The bride and groom as they exchanged their vows!

It was overall a wonderful day and we were glad to be a part of it!

Some Bridal Show tips for brides & Vendors

I've collected some tips for vendors and brides because i'm looking to do my first bridal show this September (stay tuned for details on when and where you can come and see us!).

Brides:

Set up an email address for your wedding. JohnandJane@email.com is a great way to collect vendor info without flooding your regular email address.
Make up address labels with the wedding email, your mailing address, and phone number so that you can easily fill out those raffle tickets and vendor info cards at the show.
Bring one or two people with you but not a crowd. It can get confusing and it will feel like you have to entertain them all night.
Bring a camera or take pictures with your phone so that you can keep good ideas on file!

Vendors:

Make sure that you can receive leads from the show and find out whether you will get an electronic copy/printouts/ etc.
find out if they will charge for electric/whether there will be an outlet or extension cords available.
how big will your table be?
What kind of traffic will the show recieve?
Have some interesting giveaways! (Some Ideas: company monogramed sweets or other items, something blue, a hot electronic to raffle off like a digital photo frame..)
Check out the space! What will the traffic flow be like? Will brides be able to come back to your table after the show/at the end of the evening?

On, yes, twitter I connected with the designer of the ketubah we found for our wedding. We loved our ketubah because it was so different, unique and the design we chose had a name that hit close to home ;)
